On June 25, 2024, the New Mexico Public Education Department adopted the Braille Standards and Companion guide.

 

 

New Mexico’s educators of children who are blind or visually impaired, represented by a committee of six highly experienced professionals worked to develop Braille reading and writing standards which align with Common Core print literacy standards in the state.
